EX VIVO METABOLIC ASSAYS FOR DRUGS TARGETING METABOLIC DISORDERS
Take advantage of Physiogenex’s ex vivo metabolic assays using isolated muscles or adipocytes from our in-house models (rat, mouse, hamster).
These experiments have been validated in-house with reference compounds, based on the >15-year experience of Physiogenex. We use radio-tracers to measure glucose uptake or assess fatty acids oxidation ex vivo. We have a strong expertise in handling isolated adipocytes for lipolysis assessment.
Our ex vivo metabolic assays can be used both for medium throughput screening and initial ex vivo proof-of-concept, before running in vivo efficacy studies. Each test compound can be evaluated dose-dependently within the same experiment.
To quickly select your best candidates targeting obesity, insulin resistance and diabetes, we offer:
- Ex vivo lipolysis on isolated adipocytes: this assay is designed to assess the effect of your compound targeting insulin resistance and/or obesity on adipocyte lipolytic capacity.
- Ex vivo glucose uptake on isolated adipocytes allows to evaluate your compound’s direct effect on glucose uptake in subcutaneous or visceral fat.
- Ex vivo muscle glucose uptake: evaluates the impact of your compound on glucose uptake in muscle.
- Ex vivo muscle free fatty acids oxidation: measures the direct impact of your compound in altering fat oxidation.
